Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is hope. Maybe we picture our child’s appearance, or we picture the lessons or experiences we want to share with them. A lot of us imagine what it would be like to hold them for the first time in our arms.
Regretfully, not every pregnancy ends in happiness as most of us hope. Phoenix, Arizona resident Carlos Morales is a perfect example of the bittersweet nature of life.
Erica Morales and Carlos seemed like the ideal couple. Despite a linguistic barrier (Carlos didn’t speak English and Erica didn’t speak Spanish), the couple began dating in 2006 after meeting at a nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona. They were clearly drawn to one another.
Rumor has it that Carlos and Erica danced a lot during their first night together. Carlos wrote down his phone number on a piece of paper and gave it to Erica, telling her to do with it as she liked, after the nightclub closed.

Eventually, Erica might have ended things when she misplaced the paper with Carlos’ phone number on it. It appeared that fate had different plans.
After they got back in touch, they realized they truly loved one another because of shared acquaintances.
To show his commitment, Carlos studied English so he could communicate with Erica more effectively. Erica was studying Spanish in the meanwhile.
“Observe the advantages. I want to give them the best kiss, even when they scream. That’s the thing.

Following their 2007 wedding in Las Vegas, the couple started trying to have a family.
A miscarriage marked the terrible end of their first attempt. But thanks to fertility treatment, Erica became pregnant once more, and this time, the couple was in for a tremendous surprise.
Erica was informed by the doctors that she was expecting four babies during her first ultrasound!
Over several months, Carlos and Erica got ready to become parents to four children. Erica was exhausted from giving birth to four children so quickly, so Carlos did his best to take care of her while still doing household chores like cleaning and cooking.

On January 12, 2015, Erica was admitted to the hospital due to elevated blood pressure. She texted Carlos before he could accompany her, telling him that the doctors wanted to deliver the children right away because she was having contractions all the time.
Erica and Carlos took pictures and videos to save as mementos for the future when Carlos got there. Carlos appeared to give his wife a kiss on the head before Erica entered the delivery room, saying, “Let’s get these babies out.”
He was unaware of the far-reaching effects that day would have.
Carlos said that a C-section was used to deliver his and Erica’s quadruplets, which consisted of three girls and one boy.
Carlo said, “We were so excited to start our family,” as reported by Yahoo. “And then everything collapsed.”
Tragically, Erica had hypovolemic shock—a condition characterized by severe blood and fluid loss—shortly after delivering birth.
Nurses hurried in when alarms went off while Carlos was seated by his wife’s bedside. The new father was told to wait outside while his wife was attended to by medical personnel. An hour later, a doctor showed up, telling Carlos that Erica had passed away.
Carlos Morales and his quadruplets have captured the hearts of Americans since the tragic death of his wife.”We simply are.”

“How could this have happened?” he wondered. She was OK one moment, and then not. She was here, breathing, and then she was gone. The next morning, after having the best day of my life, was the worst of mine. Soon after the birth of my four children, my wife passed away.
Carlos and his late wife had a conversation, leading to the names Carlos Jr., Paisley, and Tracey for his three children. His third baby daughter was given the name “Erica.”
The heartbroken father was allowed to bring two of his kids home from the hospital on January 16, 2015. On March 11, the two who remained were permitted to go back home.
Carlos knew he had to be there for his kids despite his intense feelings of loss and grief at his loved one’s passing. The four-parent attended seminars on baby care, where he learned how to bathe his kids, feed them when they were hungry, and manage their sleep schedules. He obtained CPR training as well.
Sondra Bridges, Erica’s mother, eventually moved in with Carlos to help him take care of her grandchildren.
Sondra said, “It’s funny how things work out.” “It’s bittersweet, but it’s been amazing because of God and the public’s love.” And I want to express my gratitude to all of you. We appreciate all of your help very much.
The emotional rollercoaster that Carlos went through when his kids were born is something I can only imagine. How do you feel about his narrative? Tell us in the space provided for comments.
